Keeping Sidney’s Spirit Alive

On a cool, bright evening, a large truck hit and killed Sidney in an Andover crosswalk. Sidney was a soft-spoken and smiley girl with springy curls. She was curious, creative, and loved her people.

On her fifth birthday she asked for a rainbow party because “it’s all the colors of my friends and family.” The Rainbow Fund was established to help that spirit live on by giving other children a chance live like a rainbow - limitless and free.

Sidney was fortunate to live an active and curious life, and we loved watching her continuously tap into her vast potential as a result. Dancing sparked creativity. Running built resilience. Teamwork built empathy and compassion. In her honor, the Rainbow Fund is dedicated making sure every key can have that experience by creating safer, more livable towns for families.

Every week our volunteer team delivers programs in our communities. You can find us advocating for changes to our transportation system locally and nationally, running with Sidney’s Rainbow Runners, and opening doors to edcuational programs at the SHED Children’s Campus and the Andover Famer’s Market. We will always have a glaring void in our lives, but our hope is that Sidney’s spirit can add to the lives of thousands of children across our region.

We call our community Sidney’s Rainbows, and whether you want to volunteer, give, or join one of our programs, we can’t wait to meet you!
