Let’s make May 11th the best day ever
Join us for the first annual Sidney’s Rainbow Day in Andover on May 11th from 10am to 1:30pm behind Old Town Hall
First Annual Sidney’s Rainbow Day
May 9th 2023 was the worst day of many of our lives, the day we lost 5-year-old Sidney Mae. Yet, Sidney was famous for declaring every day the “best day ever.” A year later, we’re hoping to gather our community in downtown Andover to celebrate her and further our efforts to create safer, more livable towns for everyone.
We’re closing down the streets behind Old Town Hall in Andover and filling them with free family fun.
Kids activities, including yoga, face painting, crafts, and more
Touch-a-truck alley with police, fire, and construction equipment
An art show with submissions from local schools - and a chance to create your own submission
A rainbow parade of bikes and scooters
Live performances, including a magician and live music
Rainbow themed activities across town, including Perry’s Plate. LaRosa’s, Learning Express, the Andover Bookstore, JP Licks, Highland & Heather, and many more locations!
….and since Sid was known for her special surprises, there will be some last minute magic added, too.
Be a part of Sidney’s Rainbow Day
We’re a 100% volunteer organization. If you like support the Rainbow Day, there are lots of ways to pitch in.
Participate in the Community Art Show
Calling all artists! We are currently accepting art submissions from local children, schools, and youth organizations for the interactive art show at Sidney’s Rainbow Day. Children are invited to create art pieces that represent community, love, and of course, rainbows.
These pieces can take a variety of forms, including paintings, drawings, small sculptures, recycled object creations, photographs, poetry, and more! (Nothing larger than 24”x36” please). Artwork can be dropped off in the bin at 16 High Street in Andover anytime before May 8. You can collect your art when the event concludes at 1:30 or label it with your name and phone number and pick it up at 16 High Street the week of May 13.
We can’t wait to see what you create!
